after the news yesterday of Steve Irwin’s tragic accident, pyMac wishes to send it’s deepest sympathies to the Irwin family.
Tragigic undoubtedly, he was a great ambassador for wildlife and conservation.
But don’t you get the feeling that it was somehow inevitable that a man who made a career from doing dangerous things with dangerous animals might eventually be seriously hurt or killed.
I think it is fair to say no one can be too surprised, but I guess the guy died doing what he loved - which is as good a way to go as any. They have obviously had loads of shows on here, many have been old interviews and it’s really telling what a great family man he was, but that they fully supported what he did. It’s been a week for it here, today Australian motor racing great Peter Brock, hit a tree and died during stage one the Targa Rally in Western Australia.
Yeah, it’s obvious the guy still had a lot of living to do, but maybe better to go doing something you truely love (whether that’s conservation or driving fast cars). As ever it’s the familes left behind who truely suffer.
